2021 BRIEFINGS:

THE BRIEFING: The index page contains links to article titles and topics within the PDF, with a link back to the index provided at the bottom of almost every page.

Standing reports in the Briefing include:

  • COUNCIL REPORTS: These reports cover the activities of each Executive Council member during the quarter.

  • FINAL FLIGHT: This page honors Troop Carrier veterans who have passed away in the last quarter or we have become of aware of their death recently.

  • ARTICLES: The heart of our quarterly publication consists of well-written and well-researched articles, many of which have never been published before. Enhanced with large dramatic photos, these stories immerse you in the history, offering a feeling of being present during the heroic actions of these men. Some original content comes from our WWII veterans, while our research team supplements stories with historical information provided by the S-3 or S-2 Officer for a Troop Carrier Squadron or Group during the war. Contributions also come from family members who share information and photographs. While many articles are researched and written by our research team, we welcome submissions from all. To submit an article contact our research team. We extend our gratitude to all who have contributed, helping us educate and keep Troop Carrier, especially glider history, alive over the years.

  • HONORING OUR VETERANS: This is a list of WWII Glider Pilots and Troop Carrier veterans who are members. We actively seek information about those we haven't met and those we have lost contact with over the years. If you know of any WWII Glider Pilot or Troop Carrier veteran who should be included in our organization, please let us know.

  • OPERATIONS: Member activities. Many of our members are involved in WWII glider and/or Troop Carrier projects. Share your activities, whether visiting a WWII site, working on a Troop Carrier project, writing, presenting, or anything you believe would interest our members. Contact us to submit your information.

  • MISSIONS: This is a list of families, names, or veterans that the Leon B. Spencer Research Team has worked with over the last quarter. We hope these families will become members to help preserve our heritage.

  • TROOP CARRIER MOVEMENT: This final page lists upcoming missions based on the calendar, along with a closing photo.
